Re: Hair rigs

you dont mate ,just the one , thread the line through the eye then make a loop /overhand knot , this is for the stop , (to keep the bait on ). then hold the line with the loop on and give it about 5/8 mm from the turn of the hook .WIth the long end of the line do a knotless knot .

Re: Hair rigs

Iv just started useing a hair rig with Bollies or Pellets. Thing I have found is that once hook about 40% of my carp are getting off the hook. The ones I do get in are hooked just inside the side of the mouth.

Im useing 20mm bollies with a size 8 hook or 11mm Pellet'Os on a size 10 hook. My rig is set about 5mm from the hook

Is there anything I can do to hook my fish better?

(Dont thing I have ever used the word "Hook so many times in my life)

Re: Hair rigs

My guess is to step up the hook size, Size 8 bit to small for 20mm boilies i use size 8 for 15-18mm boilies =[Have a read here]=

Re: Hair rigs

I HAVE BEEN CARP FISHING NOW FOR ABOUT 6 MONTHS,,,,,, I HAVE MADE ALL MY OWN RIGS AND HAVE CAUGHT MANY NICE ONES ON THEM TOO, i think it helps you to under stand different tactics and venues,,,,, you can always have a rig to suiot each venue you are fishing, im a novice and if i can do it im sure others can, its not hard once you look into it , youtube etc, you gain so much more experience from doing things for yourself

Re: Hair rigs

ive carp fished for over 20 years now and im honestly begining to think the rig makes no odds as these carp have seen it all and that its mostly luck finding a feeding carp that will take your bait any views
