Re: Hair rigs

ha ha... wonder what would happen if i try the hair rig to catch mahseer !! here we use a ball of bait the size of a cricket ball and 8/0 owner !!
Must try it for carp, have never tried it out. The guides on the river will probably think I'm mad. The hair rig is not used here at all.

Re: Hair rigs

Forget buying hair rig stops, I use short lengths of spaghetti, uncooked obviously. They are easy to use and great for holding boilies, luncheon meat etc.

Re: Hair rigs

Hi I'm new on this site and the making of an hair rig by Norfolk Boy was interesting, I've never made one, can you tell me how you tie the hair rig to your main line loop ? I can't see how unless you pass the whole hair rig through the main line loop?

Hi Luke.

I have been having the same thoughts. As Mullet feed in a similar way to Carp, I think that the hair rig could be very successful for Mullet. Let me know if you try it and have any luck.

The Hair & the Hooklength are tied using one continous length of braid or monofil line (Flourocarbon is best). Hence the knotless knot.

How you attach it to the mainline & the length of hooklink will depend on what style of fishing you are doing. As a general rule, they would be joined using a small swivel or loop to loop. Hope that helps?
