Re: Tackle shops vs Ebay

I've got most of my stuff off eBay to be honest. I hate going into my tackle shop. There's always about 10 men standing around talking crap to each other and the owner makes you feel like he doesn't want you there! I went in looking maggots one day and was told to "hang on a minute son, till I hear the rest of this yarn." So I stood there like a dick till the story was finished! Plus its well overpriced!

Re: Tackle shops vs Ebay

Since my last post I have to admit I have been using ebay a lot and can recomend a couple of sellers who are the dogs and the stuff is far better than advertised. Ok I have had a couple of bum deals and the apropriate feedback was left. we have 2 shops in town. one is ok if you are a member of the local club the other you need to shovel out the bullshit before you can buy bait. in todays world you need to shop around. dont forget it aint going to be long before another 2.5% is added to vat

Re: Tackle shops vs Ebay

I use ebay for 90% of my coarse tackle including all the carp tackle if have just bought, for my sea fishing then its 90% from the tackle shop.

Reason been were I live the local coarse fishing shop owner is an arse.

But when in Plymouth sea fishing I have a choice of shops to choose from for my sea tackle.
