im new to carp fishing and i need help big time,where i what to go fishing ive walk round and looked at how there doing it. from what i can see there use like a big wait (not as big as sea fishing) this is stright onto the main line and then small shots to stop it from moving to far up or down the line,im i right with this or is there better way i need help on how to set these up and the names of the things i need too,so when i go into a tackle shop i dont look silly.
mybe if you know any sites with diagrams of how to set them up.
i realy want to learn but like i said need help big time.

I am a naked man what i mean is just hook to main line with a good rod and line you should still get a good cast if you need to get it out further then slide on your ledger to main line put a ledger stop say 60cm up and clamp. With the weight of your bait this should be plenty i have never been a fan of rigs when carp fishing and have never used them as i have always caught plenty of big carp on just hook to line and nothing else having a good knowledge of the lake or river will only come with time and exprience what i will say is if you see a old man with a big bag of fish then make him your next best friend as i did GOD BLESS Ben Smith may he R.I.P

you have to be careful when fixing your lead to your main line the lead must be able to come off the line if the fish snaps you off the last thing you want is a fish is becoming snag to some thing just because the lead is trap on the line or dragging a big lead around until it can eject the hook , you should look at semi-fixed leads and has a hook link (the rig ) if you this type of system and snap off the only thing the fish be attached to is 6in of braid
