| Bluewater June 09 report Great trip to Bluewater lakes! I would like to start with saying a big thank you to Paul, Chris, Jim & Janet.. It was a great week with all of us catching PB's. I landed 17 carp and lost 18.. I will come to that later. My Biggest carp was 45lb  Also a highlight for me was getting to meet Danny Fairbrass and the Korda boy's as they were fishing in an international Korda match on Gigantica. Jim & Jan had arranged for me to go and see them  My swim was on the point. I set my stall out fishing 1 rod straight in front of me and the other 3 to the side  I fished tight to the margins using markers left by previous anglers   My set up was 15lb mainline Semi-fixed rig with lead clip Snowman rig Comprised of short 5 inch 20lb hooklink Size 6 korda widegape Mainline Cell boillie topped with illuminous corn The water level has fallen a couple of feet since i was last there in April it averaged about 5ft on the point. Alot of large weed beds have started to grow upto 3ft in the water which caused me no end of joy. After loosing alot of fish due to them getting snagged in the weed I started to set my led to fall off on a take.. I ejected about 12 leads, but it was worth it. One of the highlights was helping Paul land his Cat which he played for 1hr 30 mins.. I was up making a brew with my girlfriend after catching and i heard paul Shouting Chris for help.. i jumped on Jim and Jan's communal mountain bike and pegged it round to him to help..  Another good point was to get my girlfriend to catch her first Fish.. With the help of Chris , Gill managed to land her first carp 14lb..  Here's a few of the carp i caught    Anyway that's enough of me. Can't wait to go back for next year with the lads of the forum.. I want to catch a 50lb er      |
