Bait Boat's Hot or not on Bluewater

Hi all,

I'm in a bit of a dilema at the moment regarding using a bait boat on Bluewater..

When I normally bait up I use a spod and with it being my first trip to france and Bluewater. I don't know if i should hire a boat for the week, take the hit and buy one or stick to what i know best with my spod.

What should I do

Neil

Hi Neil, they have a bait boat on site, however, i found that using a spod was just as good, the bait boat is good for geting tight under far banks.

regards Steve

Re: Bait Boat's Hot or not on Bluewater

In the swim mike and claudia had on the point the bait boat really helped them as their target fish were under the trees on far bank at the time

where i was was open water and although i did borrow boat twice , all my fish came from lose fed areas

Re: Bait Boat's Hot or not on Bluewater

I suppose it's like everything else in that some of it is actually useful and some of it catchs the tackle tarts. If the fish are feeding under trees and you have no other way of getting there I suppose it would have to be a boat. If you can cast there then do what you want. Like many new bits of kit it is the dogged use under all circumstances that might make them unpopular, usually amongst those without them.

When I first started fishing (at about 10 or 11) carp were mystical, uncatchable and rare. It's amazing how things have changed but , other than heavily over fed commercials, these fish are still wyly . I don't know much about carp fishing (some would add I could have saved space by missing the word carp out there ) or boats for that matter , all I do know is I would far rather see someone access an otherwise unnaccessable swim with a boat that leave 10 or 20 baited rigs hanging from trees. As always, do what you feel is right and do no harm.

My prototype fish spotting submarine is NEARLY ready.

No not really.
