Re: Check List for France 08

great steve thanks......do they have catfish repellent?

braid hooklengths are ok but not mainline.......what about leadcore?.....to be honest i dont use it here and probably wouldnt use it there but its something else i can leave at home if its not allowed!

minimum breaking strength line is 12lb?.....i think i saw that somewhere...

just curious what breaking strength is everyone going to use?...at home i only use 4lb and fish for carp upto 28lb! so 12 seems like rope to me but as i have never done this stuff before i dont want to go under prepared

Re: Check List for France 08

Just a quick question! Why would braided main line not be allowed but braided hook lengths are? Sounds a bit backward to me! It's the hook length that comes into contact with the fish after all.

Its because if the main line breaks the nylon will break down and be less of a snag problem where as the braid is more of a problem. Its his rules so i shall follow them.

Re: Check List for France 08

i think you wil find that most french lakes will have a min of 15bs line ,i go over 2/3 times a year and have always found this ..french fish go like stink .Reading what you have said about boilies at 3kg per person ,i properly use 1.5 /3 in a day over there..

Eg
last trip my self and wife used 50 kg pigeon conditioner corn,20 kg hemp,20kg of vitalin, and 10 kg 0f maize..hope this helps.

Also

take plenty of bog roll

as for bait......i dunno ......boilies is one thing but pellet and particles can be used to get the fish grubbing in the area.....
