Fishing in France, Morgane Lakes

Hi Guys,

Have just got back from a weeks fishing at Morgane... And what a week!

When we turned up, the 2 lakes looked perfect.. There were 4 of us on the trip and we booked the 2 lakes exclusivley. One Carp lake and one Cat lake.

To cut a long story short, during the week I banked 13lb 4oz, 17lb 8oz, 22lb, 22lb 7oz, 31lb 4oz, 33lb 8oz, 36lb, and a 52lb 4oz mirror! Also landed a 23lb Cat.

We will be going back next year, and hopefully for 2 weeks, as the one week went so quickly!... Does anyone know how I can load pictures onto this post? I have got some good ones of the 52lb 4oz mirror on my PC

Pete

Looks a cracker mate, what baits/tactics did you find successful?

Re: Fishing in France, Morgane Lakes

Thanks all....

I tried different tactics all week, but found that simple is best.. I used a safe semi fixed ledger rig with a 6 inch 25lb camo braid link with a size 8 hook. I used Quest baits and all carp caught were on the tiger nut crunch boilies, mostly on single boilies. I wasnt throwing in any freebies, just using a small pva mesh bag of 6mm halibut pellets with about 3 chopped boilies. Also fishing slack line was best, to avoid spooking the fish, I prefered this than using a backlead.

Next time i head there, I wont spend so much on different flavour boilies, as tiger nut was the way to go!

Well done Pete, that's a cracking mirror did you say 26lb moggy?! Cool did it put up a good fight?

BTW you can use photo bucket to upload pics on here, I found that's the easiest way

It was a 23lb moggie... It did put up a very good fight!! When I go back next year, I will spend more time fishing for the Cats. Although they really do test your patience!..
