Re: Blue Water Lakes - how are we all getting there? Just a quick change of subject, does anyone fancy a meet at a carp venue somewhere on the south coast, somewhere we can all meet? Just i fancy a weekend away or even thursday to saturday? __________________ "The muscles of 20 men, and the brains of 20 mussels",

Re: Blue Water Lakes - how are we all getting there? so how about some suggested venues? I am happy to travel a bit was thinking of heading off to meet with Rob and Paul over their way, and possibly travelling west to meet up with the 2 Daves when they come up with a local venue. but a south coast venue would suit me fine as it is less travelling, but that makes it harder for the others. I will happily do all three areas ( any excuse to go fishing for a weekend ) We could do an overnighter at shearwater, I think that could be a good night venue for doubles, there is always todber, wadmill has some pike to keep Paul happy. I would like to try furnace lakes too, though that is a bit west for the devon boys, we could probably find some good carp venues in the midlands but again , a bit of a haul for the others. lets start thinking and finding somewhere that suits the majority. __________________ If you want the rainbow, then you have to put up with the rain

Re: Blue Water Lakes - how are we all getting there? well the begining of august.. is a big no no for me (some idiot at work has broken his leg so is off for 4 weeks as for places in devon...hmmmm lots of venues but finding a good one that allows night fishing is a task on its own really plenty of day waters but do you really want to drive all the way down here for a day?.. so on research (i personally have never fished these venues) http://www.oaktreefishery.co.uk/ that looks a good venue with a hefty catfish to scare the pants off of me! http://www.emeraldpool.co.uk/ again this place looks nice but no size of fish listed on its site http://acornfishery.com/ i have fished this one and it was a nice place.. although near to the m5 and the traffic noise took some getting used to! i have just noticed it states a 30lb caught recently on its site...when i fished here (5 or 6 weeks ago) i caught carp to around 10lbs but couldnt find the 100's of bigger fish that are supposed to be in there...the lake is plenty big enough to accomodate us all but i reckon you guys can find much better venues up your way!.. maybe pingu has something to add too i dont know ![]() __________________ fishing for fish is not as simple as you may think!

Re: Blue Water Lakes - how are we all getting there? Guys i always travel Portsmouth to Le Havre - LD lines, sails 11pm on the Friday you arrive at 07.30 saturday, perfect timing and fresh for your drive - in most cases alot closer than Calais too. The return ferry is at 5pm on the Saturday, getting in at 9.30pm, its as if an angler set the timetables !!! I usually pay between £160 and £250 return, including a cabin for the outward journey, price dependant on how early i book. Saves me so much time this way as i live in Hants and Dover is bloody miles. Most hasstle free way of travelling i have found, done it 3 times now. __________________ Cheers Mike
