All systems go for France 2008

Well after much umming and ahhring a trip to France fishing for carp has been organised for next year.

We managed to get 8 people together so we decided on a different venue.

We have decided to go to bluewaterlakes in September 2008 which has now been booked and will be confirmed as soon as I get the deposit to them which I will do in the next week or so.

The list of conspirators is:-

Mithrandir
Twiddler
Banana Steve
Fishypaul
Pingu
Greenheart
Rob M
Devondave

here is a countdown for all those who want to know how long we are going to rabbit on about this

count down

well with 423 days to go I am sure we can bore some of you to death by then.

I have spoken to Mark and Belinda who run this lake and I am confident that this year we can have a good social fish in and the odd glass of french beer whilst hopefully catching a few large fish.

Any questions feel free to ask here or PM me and I will act as a point of contact to try and answer them

I am already looking forward to this one, just wish it was this year instead.

Mike

Re: All systems go for France 2008

we can pick some smirnoff ice up at the port when we arrive, but I will ask if they stock it on site, I know the beer is only 50p a bottle!

A tethered rig is anything with a fixed lead , like a bolt rig, I will sort out some pictures of suitable rigs as the thread goes on so we can show you what we mean, but basically if the line breaks anywhere then the lead will not be dragged around by the carp, semi bolt rigs and safetyclips usually solve the rig problem.

Re: All systems go for France 2008

hm thats a good question why didnt i ask that one?

my rods are 2 and 3/4 test i hope that will be enough!!

slightly off topic but locally sea fishing they have been braking world records for catching big fish on light lines anyone know the light line record for a carp?

i would love to talk the owners into letting me bash a 40lb'er on my 4lb line and match rod and centerpin reel!

Steve, what did you reckon to Mark, he seems quite down to earth to me, no airs and graces type.

did he mention hook types , sizes etc
