Re: All systems go for France 2008

great ok i will leave my mat at home then... thats a little bit of space saved in daves car!

took a little visit to the tackle shop today just to pick up some bait for a carp trip tomorrow...nothing special just a local lake to me.......only went for a bag of kg1 boilies!......came home 50 quid lighter!!!!

got various little needed things... backleads hooklength material some more swivels (cos you never know when you might need them!) why is fishing so damn expensive?!?! i saw these cute little lead weights...with fox stamped on them......oooh must buy a couple! yeah 1.50 each!!! blimey! they were only 1 oz leads... i can melt down my 5oz leads for the beach and make 5 out of 1 5oz grip lead lol!

ok rant over lol back to saving again!

Re: All systems go for France 2008

Hi, this post is not trying to teach people to suck eggs, but with Dave asking what is needed for the trip I thought I would compile this list for every one.

Essentials in red

Non-fishing equipment
• Rucksack or carryall
• Wash kit – Soap – Razor – Deodorant – Anti Chaffing cream – talc - Tooth paste and brush
• Towels bath and hand
• Medication• Change of underwear and socks• Change of clothing including a warm item just in-case.
• Spare footwear, as I found out myself last year Thanks Dave
• Kettle and small burner and tea or coffee
• Sun cream

• Bivvy
• Chair
• Bed chair• Sleeping Bag
• Pillow, you will be amazed how much better it is with a pillow
• Waterproofs
• Small Table or some sort of bait waiter

Fishing Kit
• Rods
• Reels
• Spare Bulk spool of line
• Rod pod or bank sticks

• Bucket – For bait and other uses
• Air dry bag

• Extra Hooks, Leads, hook length material etc braid, nylon and Floro carbon
• PVA Material
• Fishing Towel
• Extra Bait that one might want to take
• Spare Catapult {Trouble have you still got mine?}

I can’t think of anything else yet but I’m certain I will, and other people will add their bits to the list as well.
