Re: All systems go for France 2008

Paul, if you want to pick a time and place that suits you, I will see what we can do about making it.

The Todber trip might be a bit of a haul for you anyway, but I was thinking late april/early may before they spawn but hopefully warm enough to be pleasant to bivvy up for a couple of nights ( say friday and saturday, if you could only do one night then that would be OK, the rest of us could carry on)

I would still like to have a couple of days at Bury Hill to see how it goes, but could do that in a mid week session in the warmer months and you could join us for a day of it maybe?

Re: All systems go for France 2008

I just been looking on the net and came across this place might be worth alook at and its only 100 miles or so from the west country, not certain how far from Paul's neck of the woods, but i might be worth a go. www.fisheries.co.uk/whitevane

Re: All systems go for France 2008

Lads,

Whitevane is a great place to fish, overnight sessions are not a problem. I've found it to be quite a tough water for carp, but it holds fish up to and over 40lbs (The famous 'Tulip'). It's definitely a lake where you have to take weather conditions and wind direction into account. You can also use barbed hooks there. It's best to give Adam (baliff) a call beforehand to make sure it's not packed, it's a popular lake once the nice weather arrives. Hot spots are either side of the boat house or the first couple of pegs just left of the baliff's office. Adam will transport you and your gear to your peg too!

Rob
