Re: All systems go for France 2008 I will be banking cheques and cash received tomorrow and posting off the deposit this weekend. When I receive final confirmation I will let you all know. Any outstanding deposits I am taking on trust that I will receive them before the end of the month. Any more suggestions as to places for a couple of pre trip meets? I reckon one east and one west then as I am relatively central I can travel to both and for those a bit further afield it is not too long a haul for you to meet up with most of the crew. I already have 2 weekends booked up in september this year, 8th and 23rd, but I can take a couple of mid week days in september near the back end as I now do not have to fly off to Australia with work. __________________ If you want the rainbow, then you have to put up with the rain

Re: All systems go for France 2008 90lb Sturgeon! that has got to have been one hell of a fight, the 15lber I had was enough of a fish to bring in, I would love to try one at that size just to see what it was like. __________________ If you want the rainbow, then you have to put up with the rain

Re: All systems go for France 2008 there wasn't a particular bait they were caught on, they were just trawling up all the feed, in other waters i have heard they have a liking for luncheon meat

Re: All systems go for France 2008 The sturgeon I caught was in shallow water near the margin on a large bed of old boilies ( the freezer ones that had gone a bit mankie), the hook bait was a boilie, plain and simple. The sturgeon are bottom feeding hoovers, they pick up all the bait laying around. The luncheon meat was a good bait for the cats, though I will be trying liver when we go to Todber as I have been told it is a killer for cats. When I caught the sturgeon the first thing it did was leap out of the water like a blue marlin, they fight like hell, when you do land it it will probably take longer to revive it than it did to catch it, they do not come to the net until they have given their all, they are exhausted when you land them, and if it was a 90lber then I guess you would be exhausted too! __________________ If you want the rainbow, then you have to put up with the rain
