Re: All systems go for France 2008

They have gone up a bit from when I looked in January.

The times are fine by me, I wanted a later return so I can get a bit of low duty fags and booze bought.

I guess some will want to leave earlier as they have long runs home.

Re: All systems go for France 2008

Just put the details of the route into autoroute to sort some timings out.

It reckons 2-15 hrs to get from my place to dover.

It reckons 1-35hrs for Dave to get to my place and about 30 mins for Ian to get to my place.

So a Rough Itinerary could be:-

Dave leaves home with Dave at 11-00 pm Friday
Ian And Steve leave at Midnight,
We meet at the Countess Services on the 303 just past Stonehenge at 12-30, quick coffee stop ( if they are open, I will check)

then depart at 01-00 hours for Dover, arrive Dover approx 03-30 hrs for a 04-00 check-in. Meet Paul and Chris at terminal. Sail 04-30 hrs

Arrive France 07-00 hrs, drive Approx half way (120 miles) stop for breakfast about 9 am

have an hour stop here this is in the toll road, so stops speed checks on the toll section.

Leave about 10 am and drive the last 130 miles, approx 2 hours and arrive about midday at the lakes.

Does that sound about right to every one, we can have a few longer breaks if you want because I do not think we can arrive too early at the lake.

I personally would probably start a little earlier than stated above to allow for night roadworks etc, but due to the lack of traffic at that time of night it is possibly unnecessary.
