last before france - the report

the day started at 0330 when the alarm sounded, i wanted to be fishing for first light which was about 0515
it was cool with a slight north-easterly breeze when i got to the lake and after a swift recce settled on a corner swim with the wind in my face,
there are a couple of small islands about 60 or 70 yards out that are obvious fish holding areas,

the wind seemed to get stronger during part of the morning and i was forced to get the thermal boots and wooly hat from the car,by 10 is was fully dressed in my winter clobber, what happened to the lovely weather ??
the morning passed without any interest and i had to wait until about 1.30 in the afternoon for something to happen when i had a quick run on a tiger nut boilie fished close to the island ,
it came in very qickly at first which made me think i had a small tench, but it went crazy close in,
once netted the lovely looking mirror turned the scales at 12lb exactly

it was in A1 condition
that was all the action i had today
soon after 2 the clouds slowly cleared and the wind dropped,by 3 o clock i was sitting out in my shorts, funny weather we have eh ?

it was nice to get a fish to break the duck for the year and now everything is aimed at france,
