| Re: PVA bags its really down to your own choice richard and what you want to put in them the stocking type of pva is becoming the most commonly used cause of its convience in tying a bag up by just tying a knot in the stocking and cutting it away from the stocking itself several bags can be made up in literally minutes and just hook on the hook and cast out this type of pva in mostly known for being used in the form of a stickmix which nick helleur made popular and now is widely used by alot of angler . you are right there are several different types on the market and its mind boggling which one to use and incidently they do have different melt times and you should be aware of this especially in the cooler month . these are the ones i use  korda funnel web boilie funnel web long chuck funnel web esp pva bag these will be of different sizes hope this helps tightlines kevin  |

| Re: PVA bags Mmm my fave method for catching carp! Don't discount PVA string/tape and making a PVA stringer! I've caught loads (and my PB) this way. However, I would never contradict Kev's advice, he's an expert, but I tend to use PVA bags when I want keep the bait out there for longer. PVA stocking/sticks are used for a shorter period OR if I want to get groundbait/particles out there I make up a 'stick' and catapult it out over my hookbait to build up a bed of bait, saves on the spodding, but can be more time consuming. Of course, it's all academic if your mix has a water content because it'll destroy your PVA, but for particles/pellets it's a belter of a tactic Rob |

| Re: PVA bags yes as you rightly pointed out rob i did forget pva string and tape which can work very well to yes it will be academic but if its a water base mix just change it to a oil as most pva bags will take oil based liquids in them iv,e even used this tactic by cutting fish chunks and placing in bags and attaching them to my trace to draw predators in and around my hook baits but make sure the bags will take oil based liquids cause some don,t tightlines kevin |
