Hi all, Just looking for some feedback, I should be taking my lad to the local puddle next weekend looking for some carp (small pond small carp around 3-4lb). I have some hemp to cook but not sure whats best. I know to leave it to soak and then to boil it til it splits but I just had a thought about steaming it instead. steamed vegies always taste better and I was wondering if it followed that steamed hemp would be better for catching. Or am I just being daft? Any views would be greatfully received.

Always found it's best to bring it to the boil & then turn off the heat & leave it to stand in the hot water overnight. Adding a bit of Bicarb of Soda also makes the hemp nice & dark. I think some fish then mistake it for small water snails. Whatever the reason it definately fishes better. Use the water from the drained hemp to add to your groundbait mix too.

Re: DIY Hemp I found a great and un smelly way(on another site somewhere ;-@) put the hemp in a thermosabout 1/2 full and then fill with boiling water and leave overnight works a treat and no smell __________________ Rapidly becomeing a serial blanker www.exmouthsaa.co.uk I have the body of a God, Pity its Buddha :-0

Would you still soak it first or just put it all in?
