| Re: River Carp fishing? now i have caught carp from my local rivers ie the wensum on the fen drains and also on the soanne in france and the mighty st lawrence in canada . what i have found in all cases they are not hard to catch but locating them will be the key to your success also pre baiting area,s that you locate them in will also pay you dividends but make sure these are not to public as you do not want to bait up and find others are fishing over tyour hard work , all rigs will work and i have found especially on rivers you do not have to get complicated but as you will here time and time again KEEP IT SIMPLE .so really you will have to put your effort into locating them VERY IMPORTANT . then decide whether you want to pre bait the area,s you found carp this will certainly help but not if you let on to others . if you take on pre baiting i would suggest you use barley, wheat, and other particles ,maize but make sure you cook them properly .by using these you can bait up cheaply and also i have found that particles are a bit heavier and do not wash away in the flow to quick (just bear that in mind the flow rate when baiting ). also what i do once cooked i will allow them to stand buckets which i add flavours to and again it just adds to the attraction of your pre bait . also add the bait you will be putting on the hook while prebaiting so when you start fishing you are not suddenly adding something that they have not seen before as they will become suspiciuos very quickly . there is a lot more you could do aswell but these basics should help you and i wish you good luck tightlines baitmaster ![]() |
