MY First Post - The Method I have recently started carp fishing and have only tried the method. Fished it about 7 times, Only had one run - Caught a 2lb bream off a boilie. I have fished for about 3 hours before dusk and until it's to cold for me to fish any longer. i think i've done everything right, nothing to complicated but i'm not sure how often i should be casting in. can anybody advise. I normally cast in at the start (obviously) and then just as its going dark Thanks

Re: MY First Post - The Method the method is a deadly method and the water i fish they respond very well (catch 22) i will cast in every 30 minutes if a run does not come, this builds up the swim which should attract the fish also another thing i do which i feel is very important is to clip up so you cast exactly the right distance, to know where to cast after originaly marking up of your spot . you need to take a mark on the far bank behind where your marker was so now not only have you got the right length you also now can aim at this mark every time even after dark you use the silloette of this mark now alot of people will tell you this is a summer method this is not true i have had some good catches in the winter as far as bait do not get in the mind frame that you must use a boilie as bait sweetcorn ,maggots work very well this time of year keep trying it will all come together and you will soon be reporting of that red letter day hope this has helped and got you thinking . tightlines baitmaster ![]()

Re: MY First Post - The Method Hi mate, welcome to the forum. I'm due to start having a go with the method, just not got round to it, and cant decide on which tackle to go for i.e. carp rod / normal feeder / heavy feeder, all the advice i get conflicts. Anyway, heres an article on method feeding, i thought it was a good read, hope it helps http://www.korum.co.uk/korum_web/Kor...PDF%20book.pdf

Re: MY First Post - The Method i use a 2 1/4lb carp rod for my method feeder work, but to be honest it is not quite up to the task, maybe i make my lumps round the feeder a little big,but i feel a 2 1/2 or even a 3lb t.c. would be better.

Re: MY First Post - The Method Thanking you all for Welcoming me and your advice - lets hope we have a long and meaningful relationship. I'm off fishing a week today, (Sad i know i have to wait a week) hopefully things will come together and i'll catch that elusive first method. I'll also be taking your advice baitmaster on trying Sweetcorn rather than boilie. Wish me luck and i'll post my results !!!![]()

Re: MY First Post - The Method i use the plastic sweetcorn and plastic breadflake when i use the method,it is guaranteed to stay on the hook and it is bouyant, this i feel is very important.when a fish goes nosing around in the method mix and it starts to break down the bouyant corn or bread pops up right in front of their noses. it has worked very well for me,its nice knowing you definately have a bait on the hook.

Re: MY First Post - The Method I see where your coming from with the plastic Sweetcorn especially with it being surrounded with loads of free offerings, and a lot of the magazines (IYCF) big it up, but i'm not to sure. Yes maybe with the method, but how would you rate it for the pole or float fishing.
