Carp On Spinner ..... While spinning for Mahseer ( India, River Cauvery) we quite often catch carp. The carp that quite readily takes spinner here is the Carnatic Carp. Found all over the river from the fast flowing rapids to the fringes of large almost stagnant pools. The largest I've caught on a no.3 mepps is about 7lbs. Have any of you caught carp on spinner? Do carp, or any similar fish in the UK take spinner? ![]()

Re: Carp On Spinner ..... I've seen pictures of it, but not in Britain. Quite a few carp over here get caught on fish baits though ![]() __________________ Dan `·.¸¸.·´¯`·.¸ Big or small, look after them all! ¸.·´¯`·.¸ ><((((º>

Re: Carp On Spinner ..... I went fishing sometime ago to this lake called Avalanche outside a place called Ooty. We were out trying to catch trout and one of the regulars who I met said most trout were caught on spinner, and hardly ever took fly. Also the Carnatic carp that I mentioned earlier takes fly!!

Re: Carp On Spinner ..... Last season I made some spinners, using the french blade design, sizes 1 and 2 for Carnatic carp. Instead of using the usual treble at the end I attached a fly. I have had good results with them espcially when fished in fast shallow water between rocks.

| Re: Carp On Spinner ..... A friend of mine caught an enormous carp on a plastic jig in a SMALL city pond. We were both amazed it was even in there. Fish don't seem to read the books we do, try whatever you can think of, you may just discover the next 'textbook' bait. __________________ A bad day fishing is better than a good day working!
