| Carp Rod Length I don't fish carp, so maybe I'm a little unrealistic regarding carp fishing. I fish freshwater- trout, bass, walleye, panfish, etc... I have also done a little saltwater fishing, but not much. For everything that I have done, I used my 6 footish Quantum Octane IM6 with Zebco 404 and other similar rods. I have seen people fish saltwater with a 12 foot range rod and I thought that was long. I read that somebody was using a 13 metre rod (pole) (like 35 to 40 feet) for carp fishing. Was I understanding it right. What type of rod lengths do you guys use for carp fishing? What is the norm? Is it just a pole or a traditional rod and reel combo set? Can you guys enlighten me about carp fishing. Thanks! ![]() |

| Re: Carp Rod Length Most carp rods over here are 12ft long. Poles however are a different thing altogether, and have no reel. The biggest I've seen used is 11 metres, so you probably didn't hear wrong. ![]() __________________ Dan `·.¸¸.·´¯`·.¸ Big or small, look after them all! ¸.·´¯`·.¸ ><((((º> |
