Carp Hooks and Floats

Help.

I have not fished for over 20 years, i need to know the best Hook size for Carp /Perch e.t.c without keep changing the Hooks if possible, plus what kind of Float is best.

The hook size all depends on size of bait.

You could use a worm for both species and a size 6 would be ideal of a big lobworms. Dendrobaena (sp?) Would go on a size 8 or 10, you could land both fish on these.

Trouble is where there's perch, there's normally 100's of tiny ones who will still jump on a size 6 hook and manage to swallow it down.

So, for the tiddlers a size 16 with red magggot or chopped worm.

Best hooks I find are ESP Raptors for big carp, and for general float fishing I use Kamasan animals.

As for floats. Carp would be a waggler in my opinion, but you'd neeed something more sensitive for perch as they hate resistance

I think where iam going to fish the lake had Chubb , Brean , Perch , Roach, i was looking at Sweetcorn / Maggots / e.t.c.

You could catch all of them on worm mate, also maggot.

If the perch and chub are of a decent size you could try spinning for them
