Question fishing in weed

when fishing in or around weed, using a helicoptor rig on leadcore, the type that yoy can slide your hooklink upto the depth you want to fish at.

how do you judge how deep the weed actually is so you know were to position your beads and hooklink so its not masked by the weed?

any thoughts or tips?

Re: fishing in weed

Another thing that you need to take into consideration when fishing in an area that contains weeds is keeping the hok from getting caugfht in the weeds. That can be worse than concealing the bait. Concealed bait has the potential to attract fish where losing a hook does no good at all. You may need to use less weight or add a float or bobber to control hook depth.

Re: fishing in weed

Try pva bags because if the fish wants your bait they will have it no mtter what also use short shank hooks and try to find the spots where the feed feed naturaly because those spots will be clear....
