Not sure what your meaning , you can catch carp with spawn and after they have spawned

if i went fishing saturday would i catch carp if they are spawning

Ahhh .. well what I have seen is that if a female is about to spawn or is close then she will be in the shallows and will have upto six male carp shadowing her waiting for there chance to do there thing

I have never had any luck with catching them in this state of mind . But now I do not even fish for them if I see this , as I want them to do there thing undisturbed so that they produce some great fry for years to come

So if they are in the mood for love then no , they will not feed much

If anyone does catch any fish with spawn in them then please treat them like gold dust and return safely and very quickly back to the water . No keepnets ect as the more spawning that goes on the better the fishing will be each year

but if they was spawning last saturday would i have a good chance if didnt cast near the spawning grounds and put out a method feeder one fish would come and see what it is

i went saturday and i had a thundering take on a 2 bits of maize rigged to a size 10 hook with no free offerings around it in the marginal shelf
