| Damn i'm bored... Last week I said to myself that this weekend would be my first day back carp fishing, but this week has been quite cold and I woke up gutted this morning to gail-force winds. Last season I fished through the winter with a certain amount of success, but wasted my time half the time as it was way too cold. One day I turned up at the local pond and it was frozen over, I thought i'll chuck a rock through it to make a hole to fish... however when I threw a heafty sized rock it simply bounced across the pond! I thought ok this has become an obsession now. So this season I stopped fishing for the winter, so i'm just picking my time to make a start back. I found last year that fishing didn't pickup until mid-March time, but this year has been alot milder. Is anyone else having success catching carp at the moment? |

| Re: Damn i'm bored... I understand that the cold is not great, but this time of year can be one most rewarding parts of Fishing. As long as you wrap up warm and make certain you stay warm fishing this time of year can be very productive. Be prepared to move, look for signs of fish movement. try different tactics and bait. I have had some great fish this time of year and Carp this time of year have a amazing colours to them. ![]() I caught this 14lb Mirror 2 years ago straight after the heavy freeze on a maggot clip. Like they say, you have to out there if you want to catch. __________________ Born to fish made to work |
