Hi Marcel,

Firstly here (below) is a list of fisheries in your area, do a little bit of research on them for rules, fish size, etc...With regards to gear how much you looking to spend? Do you need a set up for you and your son? There is a lot of free information on rigs, such as the rig section on here...there are good rig books about, also if you have an iPhone download iRigs from the app-store it's £2.99 and will help you out a lot.

Hope this helps.

Regards

Hewy

Re: starting up

Fox do a great little book for the starting Carper. Covers basic rigs, lead systems, feature finding, understanding lake make-ups, and fish handling.

Think this is it here

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fox-Guide-...item3a6eadab51

Make sure your first trips are to a 'runs' water or the lad will get bored. Your local tackle dealer would be best to advise

Re: starting up

Keep it simple, spending lots of money isn't necessary - Carpers traditionally like to believe that they caught because of the complicated rigs and expensive kit they're using. Watercraft will always count for more, and if you've been match fishing 20 years you're probably more than half way there already.

Good luck
