| When to use freespool When using a rod pod do you have to have freespool on. Also I'm a bit confused on how to use bobbin. Any help appreciated Matt |

| Re: When to use freespool A bit out of touch with modern carping but when I started with Mitchell 300's you fished "open bail" on the rests (no pod) and a "Squeezy bottle top" clipped on to the line dangling from the spool ! The "sbt" was an upgrade as we began with a rolled up strip of "pie dish tinfoil" slotted on the line ! Ripple. |

| Re: When to use freespool set your free spool so its not overly loose with free runner clutch adjuster you need a little tension on it not so it flies off bobbin clips up just after last ring if you have it on pod ,,,,yes you need free runner on on your pod good carp and it will go in, i nearly did it once as i use daiwas with the conversion on just forgot one day and had a 27 lb carp decide to take bait luckily my wee girl was on hand to grab everything and flick tha runner on,,,for pike i always fish open bail arm as they dont like resistance total dif way of fishing from bolt rigging for carp |
