That's shockin, sorry to hear that. The bailiff had already been round that day so I didn't get to see him after that. I'll make sure I tell him next time i'm there. |

Re: Carp with a tuma Could just be spawn bound, ie it hasn't spawned for a few seasons. I have seen this a few times on many waters, also the weather we had this year was very strange and I know of some waters where we believe the fish did not spawn this summer.

Re: Carp with a tuma You learn things every day, I had no idea Carp could hold spawn. Through to another season I mean...

Re: Carp with a tuma Hi, Yes it is actually quite common (uuhhumm theres a pun there, sorry). Where I live on the Isle of wight the record carp was in fact spawn bound at time of capture. This is not a good thing though as it often results in the end of the fishes life. You can extract the spawn although I wouldn't recomend it if you are unfamiliar with the process.

Re: Carp with a tuma Ahh yes, in this case it was a F1 carp. Never the less i've learned something new. I've seen on one of Kev Green's fishing programmes them showing you carp farms and the guys squeezing out the spawn. Wouldn't be giving it a go though.

Re: Carp with a tuma So are you saying they don't produce eggs? and I am pretty sure that they rarely breed not never.
