Any idea??

Has anyone got any idea what species/type of carp this is? My friend caught it weighing about 2lb, looks like a common/crucian hybrid. Any suggestions?

Re: Any idea??

It couldn't be an F1, i thought this, but the farmer who owns it claimed there has never been any F1's stocked in the lake. This was caught at Penvose farm near newquay.

Re: Any idea??

Thanks Chaz, When my mate bought it in we were convinced it was an F1, farmer soon put us in our place though. He only stocks, common, mirror and crucian carp. Hybrid is the only thing i can think of, havent seen anything like it on the internet and i've searched all day.

Re: Any idea??

It looks a lot like the bigmouth buffalo sucker that's fairly common over here.

What a name for a fish "The Bigmouth Buffalo Sucker"

It brings some hillarious images to mind doesn't it? LOL...

Whoever named it must have had a good sense of humour
