i think maddison covered all in his post on gear also a lesson in handling carp on the bank is a good thing ,,,and yep never overlook the margins my little girl loves taking them out the margins but i think she just loves sound of the reel spinning lol learn about the water you fish hidden features ie gravel bars gullys patrol routs the carp take ,watch the water look for streamers fish rolling ect could be signs of feeding areas ie blood worm beds ,,and a little tip i have learned over the years keep it simple sometimes a running lead with flouro hook link will out fish other fancy rigs
