Re: im confused ive 15lb line on

bent hook would seem to be either too small or light and the reel drag too tight imo. 7lb will not do for carp and you dont want to risk a lost fish trailing line around the lake.

15lb will cope with most carp in the uk and its what i use. just make sure you still have your drag set correctly and enjoy!

Re: im confused ive 15lb line on

when choosing a line for your spool select it on the species of fish you intend to catch and reserch the average weight of the fish in the pond you intend to fish ...

12- 15lb should be ample for UK carp .. but if there are catfish present step it up to 18 - 20lb but if there is a need to step up to the heavier option, do becareful when playing carp as not to drag them in and damage them in the process (Y)

20 - 50lb depending on casting weight of lure/bait if using big jigs like the 12 inch ones 50lb line is a must so you dont crack off on the cast

and finally 8 - 10lb for tench,bream,chub,barbel

no more than 5lb for silvers

all info stated above is my own opinion others may disagree but thats fine each to there own

Re: im confused ive 15lb line on

I was using 12lb for carp and always felt that it was enough as I like to keep my tackle as light as possible but I have recently changed to 15lb.
