| Re: What is the point? lol i really dont understand the carp fishermen of today. i bet half the people who have been saying its terrible use livebaits for pike in winter. the fact is that having a carp yanked around for 20minutes by a piece of steel embedded in its jaw is every every stressful for them,so all this faux caring is making my eyes roll. if you dont like seeing fish harmed take up bird watching. |

| Re: What is the point? I'd be careful about criticising a whole section of the population on this forum. Don't forget it's not just anglers who monitor these forums but also anti-anglers who are just looking for ammunition to use against us. An example like this might just play right in to their very "selective" fact finding. I do see your point , though I think it may only seem more sidespread in the carp fraternity as there are just far more of then than pike anglers. I've senn good and bad practise in all areas of angling. With low oxygen levels (if this lack of rain continues) we all need to be aware that unecessarily prolonging the fight of large fish by using tackle that is not strong enough will leave them in danger of exhausting themselves. So we ALL need to make sure the fish we are returning have got their strength back. __________________ Just remember, not all the heroes died. www.helpforheroes.org.uk |
