Carp fishing around Twickenham

Hi,
Just moved to the Twickenham area and looking for a nice carp fishing lake within reasonable range (less than an hour). Not after massive specimens, still learning, but just a decent day ticket lake, with nice atmosphere, friendly bailiffs where the bites are reasonable and I don't need a bait boat to stand a chance! Any tips for a decent place to go?
Thanks
Iosar

Re: Carp fishing around Twickenham

Thanks mate. I paid Thorpe Lea and Twynersh a flying (non-fishing) visit today, both look pretty good. I'll probably head down to Thorpe Lea on Monday.

Also tried Bury Farm Fisheries in Dorking (which was excellent) and Sumner Ponds in Horsham on an overnighter. Both good locations. Will definitely go again to both.
