bite alarms help

Hi,

I currently use a couple of cheap fairly crap bite alarms and going to upgrade shortly.

I have seen the sundridge optonic set with illuminated hangers for £60 , i like the idea of the illuminated hangers but not sure,

the other alarms i have been looking at are the atts alarms and v2 reciever.

im just not sure wether it will be worth spending out the extra for the gardner ones or not i know i have read alot of good reviews for them and i dont want to buy the sundridge ones only to regret it and wish i had gone the whole hog in the first place at the same time dont want to spend the extra several hundred pound when maybe not nessercary?!

am just after anyone elses first hand experience with either sets of alarms.

i am only after a pair and a receiver set.

thanks

Re: bite alarms help

I have a set of the sundridge optonics. I cannot fault them. Battery life is superb, great sensitivity adjustment and sound. I also like the idea of turning the sound of on the alarms so sound only comes from the receiver. The range is also good.

Re: bite alarms help

yes mate theres a nite light on them switch the switch to the left for just alarm or middle to turn them off or switch it to the right and it leaves a blue led on all nite iluminates the side of your rod (and its not anoyingly bright either)and the batterys seem to last for ever and there just the standard 9v square batterys

Re: bite alarms help

At night i also have the night lights on the alarms.

I turn the sound down which is silent as you dont need it twice. I do this so i can turn the receiver off when resetting the rods you dont get the constant beeping. also run of 9v batteries so its not expensive to get new. Not has to change mine in two years yet. I always carry spares tho.

Re: bite alarms help

The sunridge are good for the money but there downfall for me is the fact you get 3 beeps for every knock, which if your used to single beeps you will be jumping every time it goes off
