Few nice carp at Shatterford

Hi all, been reading the forum for a while and decided i would join in and start posting!

Visited a fishery in Shatterford and had a brilliant couple of days fishing the match/pleasure pool. There are carp to 25lb and a few suprises.

The other couple of lakes are for big carp and catfish, carp to 40lb and catfish to 70lb so i decided i would stick to the match lake and use my pole for my couple of days there.

Had the pool to myself and here are some pics of some of the fish. Using a 6.8 metre Maver margin pole with a 16-19 elastic fishing with sweetcorn on a size 12 hair rigged hook and pellets and groundbait mix for the feeding. Fished about 6 foot out on the bottom and swapped to the margins when i saw the fish feeding - water is clear and was a joy to see pairs of koi carp feeding etc!

Koi carp, 8lb 5oz

Not sure what this is! But it was cool and a nice suprise!

Almost all the fish seemed to be quite large and the action was pretty much none stop all day. On the 2 days i spent there i caught atleast 100lb of fish a day. Really enjoyed it and glad i decided to fish a new water!

Re: Few nice carp at Shatterford

Cheers guys

Yeah they have some large hills, i just took my car down right next to the pool though so wasn't bad at all!

And yeah they do have the deers there. I was told to watch out for the stag who was apparently battling a rival stag near the pool! lol

Had a great time there - if you are never coming back Nick R where do you fish? Have got a taste for branching out to new waters now!
