| Commonwood Fishery, near Wrexham, North Wales Has anyone fished on Commonwood Fishery, particularly Llewellyn lake? Myself and a friend are heading there this weekend for some carp fishing. Just wondering if anyone has any insider knowledge regards bait, tackle etc? The Llewellyn lake apparently has carp upto 20lb. |

| Re: Commonwood Fishery, near Wrexham, North Wales You know what I didn't. I fished the Llewellyn lake and had heard good things about it, however the lake bed was a very bright yellow coloured clay. I was using Korda dark silt coloured end tackle an i'm pretty sure the fish could see my tackle a mile away. I haven't been back as yet but if I did i'd try either the large specimin lake (which looked like it had the same light coloured clay bed) or the Tench only lake. You can buy the clay coloured Korda tackle so I think i'd invest in that before going next time. One thing that put me off was that there was a duck hunt going on over the next lake. They came round my lake to scare the ducks into the air, that I didn't like. But other than that it seems like a very good setup there. |
