| Re: Length of the hair Quote:
size of bait , the way the bait moves , method ie pop up balanced Short hairs are generally best for up in the water with longer ones for bottom fishing. If its too long tho you may be hooking out side the mouth |

| Re: Length of the hair I have mine tight to the bend in the hook , if you use a knot less knot , keep adjusting it until you feel the presentation is right |

| Re: Length of the hair Thanks mate you helped me a lot there I was wondering why the hook was outside the mouth.. Would I miss a lot of fish aswell because the other day I got some good positive bites but no run? |

| Re: Length of the hair 2" or 3" hairs can work well on pressured waters - it takes longer for the fish to feel resistance from hooks and leads. It really does depend on the type of water your fishing. It can work against you - missed runs as you've experienced.. you could try a long hair with a short hooklength..... It's worth experimenting with different size hairs and also the size of baits on them.... A long hair with 2x10mm baits or a short hair with 1x20mm bait etc.... It really is trial error but well worth experimenting. If your doing something different from everyone else then you may well reap the rewards! ![]() |
