Keeping The Hooklength Pinned Down How do you chaps keep you hooklength pinned to the bottom? I've seen this lead cored hooklength but it seams a terrible idea as if the mainline breaks the fish is left pulling this heavy line along. I was thinking of using some of the sinking rig tube that's available, not sure if that's right or not though.

Re: Keeping The Hooklength Pinned Down ive not met many people on the banks who seem to worry too much about the hooklength being pinned down... i come from a background of mullet fishing and if a mullet can see the line or hook it will not touch the bait.. sure it will eat all the freebies but wont touch the hook bait.. so i have many doubts over hair rigs and hooklengths.. i use 2 of the large korda sinkers on my hooklengths.. maybe 3 depending how long the hooklength is! and at the hook end of the hooklength i use a small pva stick as i think this helps hide the hook aswel as keeping everything neat and pinned to the bottom... it will be interesting to see what others do .. maybe i go over the top because of the many years watching mullet feed ![]() __________________ fishing for fish is not as simple as you may think!

Re: Keeping The Hooklength Pinned Down maybe just use abit of rig putty to hold it down, like others I tend not to worry to much about it, but then i have never fished for mullet ;-) Matt __________________ There he stands, draped in more equipment than a telephone lineman, trying to outwit an organism with a brain no bigger than a breadcrumb, and getting licked in the process.

Re: Keeping The Hooklength Pinned Down yup! especialy with hook links with a stiff coating, the coating can trap air and also be semi bouyant off its own back. a tiny bit of putty half way between the swivel and the hook is just enough to nail it down! i put a tiny bit on anyway just so im sure even without doing the fish tank test! __________________ SCUPPER A COMMERCIAL TOOOO DAY!

Re: Keeping The Hooklength Pinned Down Always make sure the end tackle is pinned down especially over feed. I use tungsten putty. Korda do make sinkers bit are a bit expensive as you can't re use them :)
