| Re: New to ledger fishing I forgot to ask, do I tighten up the line to the rig? or do i leave slack? For the running ledger rig by the way. |

| Re: New to ledger fishing Always tighten to the rig otherwise you'll never know you've had a bite or the fish will be very deep hooked which is dangerous. Going back to your earlier question, personally I wouldn't ever leave the bail arm open as it's just an accident waiting to happen and in the panic of a bite you have to remember to close the bail arm before you strike. Instead I'd just turn the anti reverse off. That way if a fish runs the reel will just backwind and when you pick the rod up to strike your other hand will automatically go to the reel handle anyway which will stop the backwind and allow you to strike. This is what most of us used to do before baitrunners were invented. __________________ I've now added a fishing blog to my website Here |
