Weed question Hi people I have joined a new lake and am currently just finding/creating clear spots. Now the lake is very weedy in most places. So have got myself a boat and life jacket etc... My question is what do i do if I find a spot bit between the spot and the bank is heavy weed to the surface. When I row my baits out my line in between will sit on too of the weed is this ok!?!?! Will the line sink threw it? Many thanks

Re: Weed question Why not fish on top of the weed ? I fish a lake that is so weedy you could mow it If your rowing them out , take a cane and push it in so it just shows under the water , use this as a marker for baiting up Use particles this will crush the weed , the fish will get on to it and disturb the weed Use light running rigs ,, 2" oz leads max and lower you bait onto the weed Fish tips up high Don't worry if the line sinks into it Fish ain't stupid they know when there is bait on a clear spot If and when you get a run and your worried about the weed , go out in your boat to land them , if its as thick as you say they will weed them selves up Buy a round landing net for landing in the boat ![]() ![]()

Re: Weed question Ok cheers nick. We are in the process of baiting and getting the fish to clear the spots. The particular weed bed I'm talking about the fish swim around as it's so thick. They are obviously taking he least route of resistance on there patrol routes.
