Nothing unusual about sweets on hooks mate to me any way, the flavourings you use are virtualy the same as they put in sweets cakes ect if not the same very similar,, and as they melt i guess they give off a scent trail ,,if you look at it maggots are not natural aquatic animals are they or boilies or sweet corn so why wouldnt they take a sweet ,, easy dip recipe ,,,,bottle of glycerine from the chemist ,,,go to mums baking tin she will have flavourings for cakes ,,,take some glycerine in a small jar add a small amount few drops of say strawberry cake flavour hey presto boilie dip i pay £1.50 for a bottle of glyceryn so there ya go

if i remember a few years ago there was an article on sweets as bait in an angling magazine they used those jelly beans for carp at a lake and caught on them does anyone recal that ??
