The RRPs in dragon carp are always very high , this is to make you think you are getting a great deal, If you are trying to upgrade then I wouldnt class dragon carp as an up grade, You seem to know quite a bit about poles so why dont you just use your judgment ? we can give all the advice in the world but its up to you in the end.

Re: Bargain pole?

I see what you mean mate but you're probably not going to get one at 30 stems like.

Im sure you could get something half decent for 50/60? even a second hand job!

Re: Bargain pole?

You should maybe try second hand as you will get a better quality brand for a lower price.
Id love to tell you which brands are the best but Im pretty clueless when it comes to pole gear

Re: Bargain pole?

Don't fall for the RRP £999 now £299 bull that you see . They were never £999 that I know of, old retailing trick that one. Anyone want a DFS sofa ? half price, no it was , just on a piece of paper and they were in the back but what the heck.

I agree with what's been posted, there is a minimum that kit will cost if it's any good.

If all you want is a rod to throw away after you used it for a week then cheap is OK. False economy on the longer term though.

Re: Bargain pole?

the White Knuckle by Middy are very good, You get a fairly robust pole for your money. at around £40.00 at 6mtrs, i use one and had no complaints.
