Re: stupid carp anglers

I'm not the best carp angler, I've only been doing it for about 6 years now and I started off with the cheapest half-decent kit I could get my hands on as I was only young and wasn't earning a lot of money but now I'm on decent money and got spare cash to spend on my hobby, I buy what I deem as decent gear...I don't see why people should be criticized for having the money to buy "top-end" gear...I get called a tackle tart all the time but it doesn't bother me at all I just put most of it down to jealousy or the person being a complete tos**r.

ive spent enough money over the yrs on tackle that would buy a house .

Many time i have had a youngster come up to me and tell me iam doing it wrong / do i want any help ,

I just let them get on with showing me how to fish (normally total bollocks any way , the latest korda shyte or something similar ) . I then proceed to tell them that they are trying to tell me how to suck eggs and what they are showing me i was doing while they were still swimming in their fathers bag ,
But with saying that now and again they do come up with a cracking idea that i always listen to and thank them for introducing me to it .because no matter what you know some one will come up with a simpler version..

Personally i dont give a toss if some one is using 200£ rods or a stick .As long as they are enjoying them selves that is all that matters

Re: stupid carp anglers

i have walked around ponds and looked at anglers fishing thinking crikey he aint ever gonna catch using that in a million years but wot the hell ......if he is happy fishing the day like he is ...probably having a relaxing few hours away from the kids work or wife/hubby then what does it matter why should it bother anyone else anyway.......i would rather spend time concerntrating on my own fishing at the pond side than contemplating what everyone else is doing............mmm i did like the look of that blokes box in peg 17 though lolfi sh2

Re: stupid carp anglers

Hi im a newbie here but had to laugh at the post ,i been carp fishing 25plus years now ,i have all the gadgets and gismoes ect, none of it new btw ,but i do use it to test rigs on what i call runs waters stoked fisheries you know the sort of place,i have sat next to ppl pulling out small carp on feeders one after the other makes no odds to me because usualy ive sat on my hands and had the 20 pounder+they wished they would have caught ,its just two different styles of fishing ,, and old fishing addage " you wont catch if the fish are not in front of you "

Re: stupid carp anglers

agree with barry1066. Cant beat asking questions he might give you some great tips and u help him. I always buy the best gear i can afford and you build up tackle as u go along i have loads of stuff that never gets used anymore but when i got it it was a brill bit of kit.
