The feeder help

Hiya, I am new to this forum and I would like some help just clarifying some things up,
1)can you put a feeder on a carp rod?
2)How do you put a feeder on?

If someone could get back to me with some information then I'll grateful,

As for your question, yes you can use a feeder on a carp rod. It just means your bait indication will be different.

Hi FW yes you can use a feeder on a carp rod If its a method feeder have it running on your main line then fit on a small rubber shock bead then another swivel with a small hooklenght with your hook tied to that. about six inches of line is all you need for a hooklenght.As a match angler I dont use heavy lines but 8 lb mainline and 6lb h/length would sort out most carp.A cage feeder is basically the same but with a longer lighter h/length..good luck

Ok, So what indication do you have then.

You can still you your rod tip ,but you will miss sensitive bites therefore you can use a BITE-ALARM or maybe a ledger float

Can you just put a hook and bait on.

Replace the feeder with a ledger instead. If you just put your hook and bait on this is called free lining which is ok for some types of fishing ,the ledger will get you the distance you need and will keep you firm in one place
