Carp Landing Nets? I'm not really a 'Carp Fisherman' in that although I do often target Carp I don't use fancy rigs and bite alarms or more importantly target large Carp. In fact the biggest Carp I've ever caught was 11.5lb and mostly I shun my 2 Carp rods in favour of a float rod and catch in the 4-8lb sizes and don't really have any desire to catch anything above the 15lb mark. My landing net for Carp is therefore not a 42" giant but a more modest 32" (I seem to have managed to find the only 32" Carp net as I can't seem to find this size anymore) and this has been more than big enough for me up till now. However a club I want to join have a rule that if you are targeting Carp you have to have a landing net of at least 36" which is fair enough but I'm having real difficulty in tracking down a suitable net and wondered if anyone can recommend one? Like I said, I'm not really a Carp Fisherman and really don't want to pay £50+ for a bloomin great 42" net that I'll never fill. Equally I've seen a few much cheaper 36" and 42" nets for around the £25 which all seem to come with a handle. The trouble is, some of these nets look flimsy and all the ones that come with a handle look like you have to use that handle (at least that's what it looks like in the online photos but maybe I'm wrong) whereas I've already got a perfectly good Carp Landing Net Handle. So can anyone recommend a 36" net that's not going to cost a fortune that allows you to use your own handle and that won't collapse under the weight of say a 15lb fish? __________________ I've now added a fishing blog to my website Here

Re: Carp Landing Nets? Quote: Just one question, I can't tell from the photo for this particular item but I've seen other 'cheap' nets that include a handle but, from the photo, it looks like you have to use that handle and not your own one because the spreader looks to be incorporated into the handle rather than something you screw onto any handle. Are there such nets out there or are the photos just deceiving me? I'd prefer to be able to use my existing handle simply because it's a lot longer than the ones that come supplied with the nets I've seen which is handy for a couple of swims at a lake I fish and also in a few of the Barbel swims on some rivers too. __________________ I've now added a fishing blog to my website Here

Re: Carp Landing Nets? why not just buy a cheap 42" net and have it made up on the bank. use the normal net you use and if you did catch a carp you couldnt land in ur normal net use the 42'' net. if im fishing my club lake on the float i have a 18'' and 42'' nets set up.

Re: Carp Landing Nets? Yeah I could do I suppose but I already carry a ton of gear with me wherever I go and don't really relish lugging more stuff around. Besides my success rate hardly warrants two nets ![]() __________________ I've now added a fishing blog to my website Here
