Re: Tactic help

well you want to get as tight to the margins as you can as most are really undercut and ive had my best fish from the margins. also light leads with pva bags, mesh or just stringers as this will reduce the chances of it plumming into the silt as the lake is VERY silty in places! if you fish on the match lake then have a little lead about and if you find any firmer silt then def fish to that! also you mentioned your fishing to a feature, what feature is this?? also when you next going down? hope this helps

Re: Tactic help

o yer also to combat the bream i use either 18 - 20mm boilies or snowmans with a 18mm bottom bait and a 10mm pop up on top, thats worked really well for me!

Thumbs up Re: Tactic help

So basically, find the hard silt. Pva bag up, then cast on it so it sits on it. hm next time im going down there. Hmm... Probably Saturday. With the Father -_- :L

tight to the margins? as in if im on a peg, just swing it down the side in the margin?

Also the feature. 1. the big Island 2. the Fallen in Tree. 3. i am also very keen on both sides of the bridge. i just proffer fishing to the sides of it.

Ive also found my new preferred late night and early morning stalking place. :) had a 12 pounder out of there the other morining after a long slow night. got the net in loads of Brambles though! but well worth a first stalked fish for me.

18-20 mill. Are huge for a angler whos on about 12 mill ;) but will give that a goo. ive had a few of the smaller carp on toffey scopex boiley. Have you any good flavours that work well down there.
Thanks for the help.

:)

Re: Tactic help

fairplay sounds like your doing fine already. yer there gd features but to be honest the island hardly ever produces a big fish! the biggest ive ever had from it is 15lb and dont get too close to it as its really snaggy. the fallen tree is gd but this also has been hammered lately so smaller fish are now being caught from it. the bridge is always gd this time of year as the fish are always travelling through there when the weather is nice and warm. about the margins yer you can do that or if you can fish to the far margin as long as obviously noone is fishing over there! ive had my best fish from the margins so honestly dont neglect them! the best thing to fish to in the margin is something like reeds or under a overhangin tree. the big bush thing on the match lake is a gd feature. hope this all helps! were hav to meet up there at some point if you want and i could show you what i mean alot more clearly. cheers.
