Smile Re: Carp gloucester canal

Richard i've caught carp on the Gloucester/Sharpness canal as far down as Sharpness & as far up as I have fished which was Frampton on the float only goldfish size mind & that was over 10 years ago now so if they have grown on they could be quite big I suppose. I know they weren't prolific thats for sure, you've more chance of finding big shoals of bream than carp i'd of thought from my experience further down the canal. Hope that helps?

Rob.

Re: Carp gloucester canal

Hi
while I was on the canal the day before this years Zander meet I spoke to a couple of anglers that had been targeting the carp, they had been concentrating on the areas near the pilot Inn and have had them to just under thirty pounds, they also said that there are more Carp in there than what other anglers thought,

Re: Carp gloucester canal

Hey rich, me and my mate fish the canal a lot, got 3 spots we use in the summer, 2 of them are a bit of a mission to get to though unless you have a boat. All we do is bait up with hemp and a handfull of chopped boilie every other night.
Where abouts are you hoping to fish on the canal? The spot we fish at hempsted had over 70 carp out last year between 6 of us who fish it, the biggest was 34lb common.
Give me a shout if you want anymore info...
