Hi Danny,

I have no idea about the fishing there but if scenery is your thing you couldn’t have picked a more beautiful area. The only other thing is that I think it’s in Somerset and not Devon.

Cheer's mate.

Kiwi.

Re: kingsmead centre fishing

I fished Kingsmeade about 3 years ago; stayed in a caravan there for a week with my son. The lakes aren't as big as they look in the pictures. Plenty of small carp but I didn't get much else. A ticket for the waters of the nearby River Tone was included in the price, which made for a change. Personally I would recommend Anglers Paradise which is the other side of Exeter, although it is a bit pricier (you get what you pay for!) - I'll be there again this year for a week with my son.

Re: kingsmead centre fishing

Unfortunately yes! It is a beautiful campsite with excellent cleanliness in static caravans but fishing is very hit or miss! Firstly, the website does not relect how difficult access is to lower specimen pool unless you have a 4X4 vehicle. Secondly, the despite promise on website, a review we submitted in May 2010 criticising venue has not yet appeared on website. The last posted review is summer 2009! Thirdly, when we complained to the owner that the website advertising misrepresented the actual fishing facilities the owner, Tristan, could not be bothered to answer us before we cut short our holiday after 3 days or subsequently when we complained and asked for a partial refund. Avoid like the plague, the guy don't care once he got your money!
