Split EVA foam grip Hi, I wondered if anyone has any suggestions. The bottom foam grip on my carp rod has a split in it, which is a couple of inches long. Is there any way of repairing it so it doesnt get any worse? I thought of putting electrical tape round it, but doubt that is the best solution, though admittedly you only actually hold that part of the rod when casting. Would heat shrink tube be any good, as I would be able to slide it over the foam grip, as it is right at base of the rod handle. I have read that you need quite a bit of heat for shrink tube (a paint stripper blower, or small blow torch for example) and was worried in case that would damage the rod itself if too much heat applied. Or can you buy the small foam grip part seperately, and replace the split part? Cheers.. Baz

Re: Split EVA foam grip You can get pole sleeves that come in various sizes, when putting them on i Use the steam from the kettle, that should be all you need. I hope this helps Steve __________________ Born to fish made to work

Re: Split EVA foam grip Is it a expensive rod ?? i would just run some pa glue under it around and under it you can buy but grips seperate , if it is a tapered blank it will have to come from the narrow end to the thick end. removing butt eye and reel seat
