5 nights at longleat top lake and new P.B

Sunday 18th

I arrived at longleat at 6pm on Sunday 18th with only 2 other anglers just setting up on the far bank, So i set up road side bank near the dam wall, By the time i set up the rods and bivvy it started to get a little dark so i stuck to a bait that i knew that worked there, 18mm Mainline Cell with Indian spice pop up to make a snowman on all 3 rods,

Monday 19th

No action till about 3am when i was woken with rod 1 screaming of struck into it and after 5mins i was sliding the net under my 1st Carp of the session only a small 14 1/2 Mirror, sorry no pics as it was to cold to mess about, Went back to sleep no more action

Tuesday 20th

No action till about 2am when rod 2 went off struck into it with in 2 mins hook pulled

re-baited casted back out went back to sleep up at 7am re-baited no action, so i changed my pop up to a high leakage banana and pineapple pop up, No action till 10:42am when rod 1 was of stuck in to what felt like a better fish after a nice 8-9 min fight i slide the net under my 2nd carp of the session a nice 20 mirror pic below

My dad turned up to fish for 24hours at 2:45pm and set up in the next peg, started talking to my dad when rod 3 was of after a good 10mins my dad slipped the net under my 3rd fish and my first Ghost carp and first common over 18lb in the shape of 20lb pic below

No more action in the day for me and dad

Wednesday 21th

No action in night same for my dad, dad left at 2pm going home blanked.
so looking around the lake to see a few fish topping half way down the lake and 2 people netting a few carp, went and spoke to them and they said the were going home at 7pm so it looked like a move was in order,
so got all my stuff together and moved and had a little chat with them they said they were catching on CCmoore Meteor with plastic pop up corn so they were kind enough to leave me half a kilo of them

By the time i set back up there was no time to mess about so stuck to 18mm Mainline Cell with high leakage banana and pineapple pop up on 2 rods and on the other CCmoore Meteor with plastic pop up corn pic below of my rig

No action in the night

Thursday 22th

Was awoken at 06:30am with a screaming run on the rod with CCmoore Meteor with plastic pop up corn after a few mins the hook pulled

re-baited casted back out, went back in to my bivvy and set up my other rods the same as the other CCmoore Meteor with plastic pop up corn, Just started to boil some milk to make my breakfast when the same rod was of again, with in 1 min the hook pulled again

so this time a changed the hook to the one in the pic from size 10 esp raptor to size 8 korda choddy, Started to play the PSP when at 09:45am the same rod was of again this time the hook didn't pull after a nice fight for about 8-9 mins i slipped the net under my 4th fish of the session in the shape of a nice 22lb mirror pic below

all the way through i did have to friends that kept eyeing up my Bolies in my bivvy pic below

No more action till 05:53pm when my far rod was of this time the fight was harder and lasted about 10-11mins when the person on the next swim put the net under my 5th fish what turned out to be the biggest and a new P.B for me with a cracking 26lb mirror

No more action till 07:52pm when the same rod was of again this CCmoore Meteor with plastic corn was going good after a good fight i slid the net under my 6th fish this one went 25 1/2lb mirror pic below had to get the Person fishing a few swims up to take the pic

re-baited casted back out went back to my bivvy and was on the phone to my brother when at 08:50pm my middle rod went of after a right scrap i slid the net under my 7th fish, scales went 14 1/2 lb mirror pic below

No more action till i was just zipping my sleeping bag up to go to sleep at 11:23pm when the other rod was of after a nice 6-7 min fight i slid the net under my 8th fish in the shape of a 19lb mirror pic below

just got to sleep when at 12:47AM i was awoken with another screaming run struck into it after a little fight i slid the net under my 9th fish, this one went 15lb and anther mirror pic below

Friday 23th

No more action so got to sleep at 1 ish to be woken up at 02:50am with one hell of a screaming run after a little fight for 3-4 mins i slid the net under my 10th and smallest fish of the session a 14lb mirror pic below

Got to sleep at about 03:25am no more action.
woke up at 09:30am no action what so ever till 03:04pm when i was speaking to the bailiff about what i caught, she asked me for a catch report to put in next weeks CARP TALK, Rod 3 was of again after a very hard fight and picking up my other 2 lines and the person in the next swim sorthing them out he help me net my 11th and final fish a 15lb Common pic below

Nice end to the session and big pay of for the move, Lovely weather all week
